Our visit to the Printing Press
As part of our unit, we went to visit a Printing Press in Vevey with Mireille, our wonderful art teacher. It was amazing! We got to see lots of old printing machines and how they work, but the best part was getting to print our very own text!

'I liked the printing our words and putting them together.' - Tessa
'It was really interesting to learn about why we call letters 'upper case' and 'lower case'. The reason is because in printing presses they had the letters in wooden cases. The capital letters are at the top or upper part of the case and the small letters are in the bottom or lower part of the case, hence the names upper and lower case letters! The most commonly used lower case letters are in the middle of the bottom case, as that makes them easier to reach.' - Miss. Maria
